Bruncheon at Hawksmoor

When the week end comes, you can recharge your batteries and go for brunch.

Ever since I listened to this broadcast the other day on the French radio France Inter about the meat business, I decided to change my habits. The guest Yves Marie Le Bourdonnec is a butcher himself but all he was saying is we need to eat less meat! By which he meant less frequently but buying only high quality products (which he happens to sell…). Surprisingly, he was also saying that beef farming in the UK had outdone France in terms of meat quality (suck on that Frenchies!). Well that’s convenient because I was in London this week end and I know exactly THE place for beef lovers: Hawksmoor.

You will spend around 50 quid per person there but they are well worth it! Generous meat portions (great to share), succulent homemade burgers and a cocktail list that will take you through the History of fine drinking in the UK. The place is nice and cosy and staff is welcoming enough so what more can you ask for?

I went for Brunch this week end and opted for the Breakfast for 2 (£35). It is huge even by British standard and the meat is great. The sort of earthy food that sticks to your stomach (just make sure you don’t go running afterwards).

Big thumbs up for the Cornflakes Milkshake, I gulped it down in one go; will someone give me the recipe, pleeeease!
