A new brand has just joined my overfilled tea cupboard and its collection of teabags, herbs and flowers…my new favourite is made by løv organic.
Their brands are organic and packaged lovely sealable metal tins. They also make brilliant utensils for teatime.
I usually have many tea breaks in the same day, and every time I like having a different type of tea in a different teapot… so here are my 4 daily more memorable tea sessions.
Morning: when my body is still numb, I have my tea in a mug. I hold it tenderly with both hands and pray that I’ll never finish it because once it’s finished you have to get ready and go to work. I usually have an English breakfast tea.
4 o’clock with my girlfriends: this one requires a large teapot to share. And the girls love my Royal Tea mix using green tea and spices (check out the recipe here).
Solo afternoon tea : most of the time it’s Lemon an Ginger and for this I used the single teapot. It’s very clever and easy to use. However I thought the tea by løv organic was a bit too mild. I like a strong tea that shakes up your palate. So I think I’ll stick to my usual brand on this one.
Bedtime herbal tea : I used the "tisaniere" which is a no fuss tea maker. I love the silicon sleeve around the middle so you can grab it tightly and hold it without burning your hands. At this time of the evening I normally drink verbena, not the teabags but the dried leaves that you can buy in bulk from your Turkish grocer, or on løv organic’s website (for a little more money).
For the sunny days, I can add an iced tea time served in a big jug with ice and a few slices of lemon…but we’ll have to wait a little while for this one.
And to finish off this post, I thought that a biscuit recipe too was needed so you have something to dip in your tea. I came up with Earl Grey biscuit. I used an old recipe from what I call my granny’s own blog from 1948 (Back in the days, it was on paper and we used to call them recipe notebooks! They were full of drawings and stories and they could be shared with friends. )
So I took her great biscuit recipe and just added a little twist, i.e. a spoon of earl grey tea that I crushed in a mortar.
